A bare wall often feels unfinished. With an arch of flexible moulding you give a wall, a doorway or the spot above your sofa a calm, classic look in one go. You can do it yourself, because the moulding combines three things:

  • Flexible. The moulding bends along the curve, so you make every arch from one piece without a visible seam.
  • Self-adhesive. Mark out, cut to size and stick on: that is all there is to it.
  • Paintable. You paint it in your wall colour, so it becomes one with the wall.

How Lisa-Jane made three arches above the sofa

  1. Mark out

Draw the straight sides with a spirit level or laser, and the curve with a piece of string and a pencil from the centre point.

  2. Cut to size

Cut the moulding to length with miter shears. Cut each arch from one piece, so there is no seam in the curve.

  3. Stick on

Peel the film off the adhesive strip and press the moulding firmly along your line. For large arches it helps to work in pairs.

  4. Paint

Paint the mouldings in the colour of your wall, so they become one with it.

Making an arch narrower than 50 cm, or do the ends of the roll curl up slightly? Then fix them extra firmly with super glue and activator. It comes in the Complete Finishing Kit.
